Wat Jadeeloung

Wat Jadeeloung, a.k.a. Wat Phra Chedi Luang.
It's an ancient temple which is located in Chiang Saen, 15 minutes from Chiang Rai (Golden Triangle). According to our tour guide Molly, this temple is 700+ years old.

Just did some research, source: Frommers
The area's second oldest wat is still an active Buddhist monastery. Rising from a cluster of wooden dorms, Wat Jadeeloung has a huge brick chedi that dominates the main street. The wat complex was established in 1331 under the reign of King Saen Phu and was rebuilt in 1515 by King Muang Kaeo. The old brick foundations, now supporting a very large, plaster seated Buddha flanked by smaller ones, are all that remain. Small bronze and stucco Buddhas excavated from the site are now in the museum. It is open daily from 8am to 6pm. Admission is free.

Wat Jadeeloung

Wat Jadeeloung is not the same with Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, not at all. It's a very old temple...however, it's not as strict as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which required you to wear Sarong if you are wearing shorts or sleeveless.

:)

I don't know the name of this Buddha, but I've heard we can stick "gold colour paper" (it's a small piece of gold color paper, about 1.5cm x 1.5cm) on this statue and Buddha will brings you luck, wealth and health.

You can get gold papers from the silver bowl and that's a donation box which is made of wood.

I also want luck, health and wealth! :P

Some photos before we leave the temple

Next station, Golden Triangle :)
